one of my pet peeves.

is confident wrongness. it’s everywhere and universal. as an example, I am so tired of the boiling frog analogy. I get its use, but when the first principals of the metaphor are not accurate, what is the value in it? folks will just find the error in your metaphor and then discount the entire premise.

that is an obviously minor example, but it just gets worse from there. I’d come up with more but I’m getting ready for work, where I can find all the fractal wrongness I can stand..

the Chamboard lives!

this was super fun, I built an epaper based digital message board for my mom. this thing is hilariously hacked together and insecure but it does what I need it to and it does not need to be secure. yes, this means the messages are all out in public, including the WiFi password I posted to it 🤪, but that’s ok, security was not part of the design principals. hackability, easy and fun were the goals here and this one checks all those boxes.

pictured, where it currently lives. right next to her TV so it’s hard to miss.

I kinda love Bobs Burgers

Bobs burgers is truly our families “Simpsons.” I mean, we also love the Simpsons, but what I mean is that it’s the fox animated show that’s been on forever that we just sort of default turn onto when bored. thing is though, it pains me to say it but Bobs Burgers is just a better show. It’s also been on forever a but it managed to not only start out great, but it has stayed great and just continues to get better.

It’s such a heartwarming show that manages to be inclusive and progressive just in how it exists. I was inspired to post this when watching “The Ring (But Not Scary)” with E this AM and I noticed just how much I love the character Nat Kinkle. Nat is my spirit animal, resourceful, loyal, helpful, competent and fun. qualities I always try to live up to.
